Halloween Decorations

I made these after seeing The Idea Room's post on Facebook on September 2, 2014.

I decided I liked them better on the island in my kitchen.

I added a few friends who have been with me for a few years!

Hope you have a great day! :)

Andes Treats

I was on a search to find a cute treat holder for Andes mints when I came across a picture of one.  I tracked down the original post here (http://simplysimplestamping.com/andes-mint-holders/).

These are so cute and easy to make. It uses the Two Tag die from Stampin' Up, ribbon, cardstock, Label Love stamp set and matching punch, a perler bead, and glue dots.

Here are step by step pictures/comments on how this is made.

Add an additional score mark 1/4" from the score mark made by the die.

Cut a slit in the middle of the original score mark.

Thread the ribbon thru the slit at the top and then thru the slit you made.

Adhere the mints making sure one is on top of the ribbon.

Adhere the cardstock to the front. Thread the ribbon through the slit and then throughthe hole made by the die.

Thread the ribbon thru the perler bead and pull to tighten.

Attach the sentiment and you're done!

Happy Halloween Card

Halloween is not my favorite holiday - in fact, it is my least favorite because of all the scary costumes. If Halloween was just for the children (those 6th grade and under), this momma would be very happy! I love the sweetness of Halloween and all the cute things - the scary things, not at all!

I made this card for my sweet grandbabies. Inside the card will be some money to go to their local ice cream shop to get a sweet treat with mom and dad!

Hope you have a great day! :)

3-D Window Card

This is similar to the Peek-A-Boo card except there are no inserts to pull.

I found this idea while searching Pinterest. The website it was linked to was in another language so I am not sure who to credit.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Peek-A-Boo Card

I made this card for my son and daughter-in-law on the birth of their second child ... a son!

I love these peek-a-boo cards. I will definitely be making more of these!

Have a great day! :)

Decorative Wreaths

My daughter and I made wreaths together. These were made after my DIL sent pictures of a couple of wreaths she made.

This is for my daughter's bedroom door - made by my daughter.

This was made by me for our front door.

I painted the "BOO" with glow in the dark paint and it was not dry when I took the picture.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Teacher Treats for Halloween

Treats for my daughter's teachers - she sees seven teachers during the week (her grade level teacher, Spanish, PE, Librarian, Art, Band, and Computer).  These bags hold a snack size Hershey bar, a Reese's pumpkin, and a snack size Nestle Crunch.

Sweet Kitty on Pumpkin

I made this sweet kitty on a pumpkin following this video.

After I took a picture of this, my pumpkin looked like an orange to me ... note to self: do not use the dotted embossing folder next time!

Hope you have a great day! :)

Mini Soap Box

This is another one of Sam's creations. :)

I was going out of town for my second grandchild's birth and I wanted to leave my daughter something to let her know I was thinking of her even though I was out of town.  This cute little bag/box held several Hershey Kisses.

Have a great day! :)

Fold Flat Box

This fold flat box was designed by Sam Donald to hold 3" x 3" cards and envelopes.

With Halloween on my mind, I put a snack size Hershey bar, a snack size KitKat, and a Reese's Penut Butter Cup in mine.

Have a great day! 😊

Jar of Love

I made this anniversary card in bulk because I have several cards to send this month. It was also easy to get all the punching and do all the Big Shot cutting at one time.

Have a great day! :)

Sweet Treat Box

Sam Donald shared this box on September 22. It is to hold mini candy bars found in the UK.

This one will hold a Reese's Pieces or Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. It is not tall enough to hold a snack size candy bar. 😞 I tried a snack size Hershey's Milk Chocolate, a KitKat, and a Mr. Goodbar.

Hope you have a great day! 😊

Pencil Pouch

I took out my sewing machine and made this pencil pouch for my daughter. I was very impressed with myself that I was able to get the zipper in on the first try!

The pattern for this can be found at Sew 4 Home.

She loved it and that's what makes it all worthwhile!

Hope you have a great day! :)

Sympathy Cards

Sympathy cards seem to be the hardest to make, but they end up being my favorite ones. I guess that is because of the love and sorrow that goes into the cards.

When I heard of a dear Christian woman being placed in hospice care, my heart broke because I knew her time was near - she was such a fighter. This wonderful Christian lady was such a great part of my life and I will miss her dearly! Although we live on opposite sides of the US, we were in contact with each other and I cherish the words of encouragement she gave me. I was blessed to work with her and what a Christian example she was!

The same day, I learned of another Christian woman who was having struggles so her daughter was staying with her at night. I had a get well/thinking of you card on my "to do" list for the next day. Unfortunately, an email arrived the next morning stating she passed away during the night.

My heart was heavy as I learned of two wonderful Christian women leaving this earth the same day. What a joy for them as I know both of them are exactly where they want to be and are no longer struggling with their health.

I made several cards to send to the family members who were "left behind" and placed them in the mail. Yes, these cards are the hardest to make, but the memories that came while making them - well, those are priceless and I will treasure them for a long time to come!

Hope you have a great day! :)

Halloween Treat Boxes

I had some scrap paper and I kept thinking, "What can I do with this?" When looking at my table I spied the extra "bats" from making Halloween treats for my daughter's classmates. Viola! This treat holders are what I made!

The scrap pieces of cardstock measured 3" x 12". I cut them down to 3" x 9". I scored the short side at 1" and the long side at 1 3/8", 4 1/8", 5 1/2", and 8 1/4". I cut on the red lines as shown in the diagram; completely removing the small square on the bottom right to create the tab for the box. I used adhesive on the tab to created the sides of the box and then glued the bottom tabs closed.

The moon is punched from a 1 3/4" circle punch. The owl is the owl body from the owl builder punch and a 1" bat from Create a Critter 2 for my Cricut. I glued 7 mm googly eyes on the "bat" and drew the mouth with a white uni-ball pen. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set from Stampin' Up! and it is punched with the word window punch. I sponged the "bat" with white ink; the moon and sentiment with brown ink.

Hope you have a great day! :)

It's Been A Year ...

I cannot believe I have been blogging about the things I make for a year now. I love to find things that others have made and either CASE (copy and save everything) or take something someone else has made and make it my own.

Crafting is fun and if I have made something of yours and I have not given you credit for it, please accept my apologies! I like to give credit for things that are not my originals.

I hope you are enjoying the fall - wherever you are - and that the cooler temperatures have made it your way.

My family will be visiting the pumpkin patch in the next town really soon.

Have a great day! :)
