Button Container Repurposed

I have been wanting to make one of gees for a long time! I finally had an empty container to complete this.

This uses an empty Stampin' Up! button or brad container, a piece of transparency, DSP, sticky strip, 2 1/2" circle punch, and ribbon.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Halloween Goodies

It's getting to be that time again ... Halloween.

As school began, I thought about Halloween and what to do for my daughter's classmates when this came to mind. There are several children with food allergies so I thought I would stay away from sweets. Her class is always in need of pencils so I thought I could "kill two birds with one stone" and give them pencils! :)

This is my sample. I made the bat out of the owl and oval punch from Stampin' Up!. I used a white stamp pad to color the edges of the pieces before gluing them together. I used 7 mm googly eyes and a white gel pen to complete the bat. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes from Stampin' Up! which I punched with the word label punch from Stampin' Up!.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Shaker Card

I have seen shaker cards, but never had the supplies to make one - or at least I thought I didnt!

I used circle framelits to cut two circles out of foam. I glued the foam together and set them aside.

I stamped my image and cut it out with a circle framelit - the largest used for the foam circles.

I cut a piece of transparency with the same circle used for my stamped image.

I cut a border circle with the same two circle framelits used to cut the foam.

I glued the foam circles to my image and inserted some sequins.

I glued the transparency to the top of the foam circles and then glued on the border circle.

I cut a hole in my card with the same circle framelit used to cut out my stamped image. I placed the card over my shaker frame and pushed it through the card front.

I am sure I will make more of these ... This was so easy to make!

Have a great day! :)

Birthday Balloons

I recently read/saw an idea for a card ... Make it like a bookmark - narrow like a bookmark, but still a card.

This is what I came up with...

The balloons are made from a small oval punch and one foot of Stampin' Up!'s owl builder punch. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with Stampin' Up!'s modern label punch. Paper was some I had on hand. The ribbon is from Stampin' Up!'s new In Colors - Hello Honey and Tangelo Twist.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Penguin Note

I wanted to make an encouragement card for my daughter at the beginning of school. This little guy was just what I was looking for!

This penguin looked like a great one to lift someone's spirits when they are sick so I made a "feel better soon" card as well.

I CASE'd this idea from Pinterest - there were no directions, just the picture. I used the Top Note die, small oval punch, bird builder punch, and modern label punch from Stampin' Up! to build the penguin. I used 10 mm wiggly eyes instead of punched circles. I used a retired hostess stamp for the sentiment and punched it out with the modern label punch from Stampin' Up! The cardstock was some I had on hand.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Satchel Box

I was looking through Pinterest when I found this box. I went to the website for the box, but it was in another language so I had to figure things out on my own.

Here is what I used to make this box:

Yellow CS 4 1/2" x 11" - score long side at 2", 3 1/2", 8", and 9 1/2"
Green CS 4" x 5" - score long side at 1" and 2 1/2"; slightly round the end after the last score line
Green CS 4" x 7" - score long side at 1" and 2 1/2"

Attach double sided tape or glue the bottom underside of the 1" scored section of the 4" x 7" piece.

Attach this to the inside of the yellow CS as shown.

Attach double sided tape or glue to the inside portion of the 1" scored section of the 4" x 5" piece.

Adhere this to the outside of the yellow CS as shown. For picture purposes, I folded the first green CS to the inside of the yellow CS.

Cut two 1" x 4" pieces of green CS and adhere with double sided tape or glue to the sides of the box. Add your eyelets. Note: If using brads, you can place the ribbon between the two pieces of CS, pierce a hole, and insert a brad. You can also wait to add the side pieces and ribbon until the box is completed.

Adhere double sided tape or glue to the yellow flaps of the box and adhere them to the front green flap.

Using an oval punch, punch the center of the front for easy access to cards or goodies you place inside.

This is what the inside of the box should look like at this point.

Punch two 1" circles out of the yellow CS. Using a paper piercer, place one circle on the front flap and pierce through the circle and the flap; attach the circle with a brad.

Close the flap to find the placement for the other circle and pierce a hole; attach the circle with a brad.

Add your ribbon and the box is complete!

The finished box measures 4" x 1 1/2" x 4 1/2".

Embellish as desired. Mine has yet to be embellished - waiting to discover where its new home will be and for what reason (birthday, thinking of you, get well, etc).

Hope you have a great day! :)

2nd Birthday Card

My sweet granddaughter is turning 2 in three days! I made this card for her with her party theme in mind - polka dots!

The stamp set and inside of the card were made with items made by InkyAntics and the collection is called HoneyPOP. I found their products at a local craft store, but they can also be found online here.

The sentiment for the inside of the card is from Stampin' Up!'s stamp set called Sassy Salutations.

I hope my granddaughter likes her card and has a wonderful birthday! Not only will she be celebrating her 2nd birthday, but she will soon (within days) be celebrating the birth of her baby brother and she will be a big sister!

Happy Birthday sweet Kaitlynn! You are going to be a great big sister.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Sweet Treat Box

This box was originally made by Linda Parker. She created the box to hold Ferrero Rocher Chocolates.

Here is the first box I made from Linda's instructions

Ana and I went to the candy store in our mall and found individually wrapped chocolate covered cherries and Almond Roca. The Ghiradelli minis were purchased at a local grocery store. (You can find another box for the Ghiradelli minis in my previous post.)

These boxes are not decorated - yet - but will be as soon as I give them away. I will put the appropriate sentiment (birthday, thank you, etc) on them before gifting them.

I hope you have a great day! :)

Mini Ghiradelli Box

I recently purchased some Mini Ghiradelli candies and thought I could make a box for them. Fortunately for me, Angie at Stamping with Amore already tackled this so all I had to do was recreate her box! :)

These boxes were made to give to two wonderful ladies who helped me with crafts during Vacation Bible School.

The boxes hold 4 candies if placed in the box like file folders. The boxes will hold 5 candies if placed in flat and stacked like boxes.

Hope you have a great day! :)

Teacher Gift

It's that time of year ... Summer is over and the children are back in school. I miss having my daughter around during the day. She is so much fun to do things with - I do, however, look forward to picking her up after school and finding out about her day!

This is what I made her teacher as a gift for the first day of school. I took a soda shop straw dispenser and filled it with No. 2 pencils and added her teacher's name in vinyl letters.

My daughter was lucky to get a teacher last year that teaches 4th grade one year and then 5th grade the next year so this is the second year with the same teacher. She was so excited to hear she would have the same teacher two years in a row!

Hope everyone is adjusting to the school year routine. We are adjusting very slowly from late nights to bed times again.

Have a great day! :)
