Snowman Goodie Wrapper

Don't these guys look like they should be singing "Jingle Bells"???

France Martin shared these on her blog and I had to make some for my family. She used hers to hold York Peppermint Patties. Some of my snowmen held two snack size Hershey bars and others held a Chapstick and a snack size Hershey bar in these.

You can get four snowmen out of one 8 1/2" x 11" piece of white card stock.

Items needed:

1 - 8 1/2" x 11" piece of white CS
4 - 2" x 2" pieces of black CS
4 - 1/2" x 2 1/2" pieces of black CS
Ribbon
Washi tape
Brads or candy dots
Scrap piece of orange CS
Envelope punch board

Instructions:

  • Score on the 11" side of the CS at 5 1/8" and 5 7/8"
  • Cut on the 8 1/2" side at 2 1/8" ... Do this two more times to get four snowmen pieces
  • Fold on score lines
  • Take each piece and use the Envelope Punch Board to punch at 2 1/8" from each end and on both sides - your pieces should look like the picture below

  • Use the Envelope Punch Board to round the corners on one end of the 2" x 2" black CS - for the top of the hat
  • Place the rounded end of the 2" x 2" black CS square onto the Envelop Punch Board at the 1" mark and punch - Keep the punched out part for the snowman's mouth - Repeat on remaining 2" x 2" black CS pieces
  • Use the Envelope Punch Board to round all the corners on the 1/2" x 2 1/2" pieces of black CS - for the brim of the hat - the picture below shows what your pieces should look like now

  • Place washi tape towards the bottom of the hat and affix the brim to the hat
  • Attach the completed hat to one end of the snowman body piece
  • Cut small triangles out of the orange CS
  • Attach mouth and nose to snowman
  • Use candy dots or brads for eyes and buttons
  • Use glue dot to secure candy to the inside of the snowman
  • Tie ribbon in knot around the snowman's neck
There you have it! A cute little gift ... I think I might leave one in the mailbox for our mail carrier!

Have a great day!

Gum Wrapper

Aren't these cute!

These use Eclipse gum - just the gum, not the wrappers.

Cardstock is 6" x 3 3/4" scored at 1/4" on the short side and at 2 1/2", 2 3/4", 5 1/4", and 5 1/2" on the long side.

Remove the sections marked with an "X" and place sticky strip on the sections marked "sticky".

Put side together then the bottom.

Punch hole in the top of the gum container and tie ribbon through the hole.

Make snowman faces with Sharpie markers.

Viola! A cute gift for someone on short notice!

Have a great day!

Candy Tins

I purchased these little tins from Pick Your Plum back in the summer time and never knew what to do with them. I needed some small gifts and thought ... Hershey Nuggets!

Five Hershey Nuggets fit nicely into these tins so I cut some paper to wrap around the nuggets to give the gift a little cute-ness then tied a ribbon around the closed tin.

Something small, but still let's the receiver know you are thinking of them!

Have a great day!

Thank You Gift Box

My daughter has been participating in Girls on the Run. She and I participated in a 5K race - we both finished and had fun doing this run together.

She had three coaches during the course of the eight week program. I wanted to thank them for the time they volunteered to coach my daughter along with seven other girls.

I made a box (3" x 2" x 4") and placed Lindor Truffles, Vaseline lip therapy, a Hershey's milk chocolate Santa, and lotion inside.  They oooo'd at the candy, but were very excited about the Vaseline lip therapy - can you tell they are true runners and love products that protect their lips!

Sorry about the picture. I forgot to take a picture of it before leaving the house and this was the last chance I had to give them their gifts.

Here is a picture of the Vaseline lip therapy. It is only 0.25 ounces and the container is quite small - just right for a runner to have in their pocket!

Here is a picture of Ana and her friends from Girls on the Run.  They had a fun time together and created some friendships that will last a long time!

I hope you have a great day!

Mojo Monday 324

It's Monday and there are only nine more shopping days until Christmas ... Are you ready?

Here is today's Mojo Monday sketch ...

There are so many things I could think of to do with this sketch - normally, I cannot think of anything!

Here is the card I created ...

I hope you like it!

Have a great Monday! ツ

Birthday Card

My daughter has a good friend in Idaho who has a birthday today so I made him this card.

The card is open a little thus the shadow on the inside. I failed to take a picture of the inside before putting the card in the mail. :(

I hope the card adds a little sunshine to his day - the temperature there has been extremely cold!

Have a great Friday!

Candy Box

I saw a box while blog hopping that I really wanted to make. I contacted the creator and was able to purchase the pattern from her. If you would like to purchase the pattern, go to http:/thestoreannex.blogspot.com/2013/07/pillow-gift-box-video-5.html.

Here is the box I made from her pattern.

I made a small box from a piece of DSP that had white on the back, but I think this pattern is better for DSP papers that have print on both sides.

I think I am going to fill this one up with some candy and take it to the realtors who helped us find our new house.  They (a husband and wife team) were very kind and worked with us while the market was really crazy ... without them, I do not think we would have our house.

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to my Husband

Yesterday was my husband's birthday so I made him this card. It caused him to chuckle which was my goal - he's been really busy with work lately.

The cake was an individual bundt cake from a local bakery.

Hope you are having a great day!

Sleigh of Candy

I recreated this sleigh of candy for Ana's teacher. It turned out great and I used glue dots instead of hot glue so it didn't damage the chocolates.

It is so easy to make. If you would like step by step directions, go here.

Have a great day!

Hanging Card Holder

I recently took this online class and made this wonderful hanging card holder.

I made it so I can make some cards in advance and have them ready when I need a "Thinking of You" or "Thank You card".

If you would like to know how to make this card holder, go here.

I hope you have a great Tuesday! ツ

Mojo Monday 323

Are you ready for Christmas? It is only 15 days away!

Here is the Mojo Sketch for today ...

I love this stamp set (Best of Snow - Stampin' Up!) and had to use it on today's card.  The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin (also a Stampin' Up! product).

I hope you like it! Have a great Monday! ツ

Post It Note Hanger

These little Post It note holders are cute! These were made to go along with my cookies for the cookie exchange I am participating in.

Products used from Stampin' Up! are ...

Two Tag Die (large tag)
Flower Shop stamp set and coordinating Punch
Island Indigo stamp pad
Elegant Eggplant DSP
Corner Rounder
Snail adhesive
Jewels basic pearl
Dimensionals

The white ribbon, white cardstock, and teal cardstock are from a local craft store.

The small Post Its are from a local office supply store. Divide one small Post It into 10 sections because a entite Post It will not fit into the tag.

The DSP paper and the white CS for the sentiment measures 2 1/2" x 1 5/8".

The white CS that goes behind the Post It measures 2 1/2" x 1 3/4".

Stamp and punch the flower and use the edge of a bone folder to round the flower petals.

Use Snail adhesive to put the DSP, the post it, and white CS pieces onto the tag.

Use a dimensional to put the flower on the front.

Add a large basic pearl to the center of the flower.

Thread the 10" of ribbon through the hole and tie it in a knot so it can easily be untied to go around a purse handle or simply hang from any place where you need a piece of paper!

Hope you have a great Friday!

Re-purposed Containers

Ana has friends (that are twins) who are having a birthday. I thought it would be nice for her to give them a gift - just a little something to acknowledge their big day!

I love candles and normally use Scentsy products, but I came across some candles at Walmart for $1 and they were just the right size for my small bathrooms. Well, just last week the candles burnt down or should I say the wick was too short for the amount of wax left in the candle! I couldn't bear throwing the cute jars away so I decided to re-purpose them!

I turned the jars upside down on an aluminum foil lined cookie sheet and placed them in my preheated 200 degree oven. Within minutes the wax was soft enough for me to get it out. I washed the containers and let them air dry.

I found some hard candy at WinCo (a local grocery store) and filled the jars.

I hope the girls like the candy!

Have a great Thursday!

Coaster Calendar 2014

I love making calendar gifts for friends and when I saw this coaster calendar, I knew I had to make at least one of them!

Here is the coaster calendar I made ...

I saw the Coaster Calendar on My Chic 'N Scratch's website and if you would like to have the calendar file for this project, go here and you can download it. You do need to scroll down a little bit to see the area where the download is located.

I hope you like this cute calendar as much as I did!

Have a great Wednesday!

Cookie Exchange Box

The ladies where I attend church services are getting together to have a cookie exchange. The instructions were to be creative on the packaging of the cookies so I decided to make boxes to hold the cookies I make.

Here are the boxes ...

I was going to make them all the same (the candy cane pattern paper), but I found this paper with the fun colors and decided to make them all different. I am to make 20 of these so I will use the papers shown along with different ribbons to make each one a bit unique.

Hope you have a great day!

Mojo Monday

I cannot believe it is December already, but glad it is Monday and everyone is back in the regular routine after the holiday!

Here is the sketch for Mojo Monday.

Here is the card I created - it's for a (new) friend of mine who I think needs a little pick me up ... I hope this works!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

I wanted to make a different Thanksgiving card and this is what I came up with.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving Day!

Flip Top Calendars

I ordered a "Class in the Mail" from France Martin and loved the calendars she created for us to make.

Here is a calendar I made with her instructions.

Here is a calendar I made on my own. I made a card just like it for Mojo Monday - I loved the card so much I thought it would look good on a calendar.

Have a great day!

Easel Calendars

I am busy making calendar gifts for family and friends. These will go out after our Christmas cards are mailed, but before the new year.

The easel part of the card is 4 1/4" x 11" folded in half.

The paper behind the calendar is 2 1/2" x 3 1/4".

The calendars were order from tayloredexpressions.com.

Stamp sets used were Gorgeous Grunge, Flower Shop, and Petite Pairs.

Other items used were pearls and the large oval punch.

Have a great day!

Mojo Monday 321

Finally had time to sit down and complete the Monday Mojo card.

Here is the sketch for today's card.

One of these days I will make a round card, but for now my cards are rectangle!

Here is the card I created.

We just spent the weekend with wonderful friends who have a daughter the same age as ours. What fun we had "crashing" in on their vacation to Disneyland! I wanted to make this to let them know how much we appreciated the invitation and how much fun we had with them.

Hope you had a wonderful Monday!

Lovin' this purse!

I am loving this new purse!

Here are just a few more ...

It is so easy to make! All you need is the Envelope Punch Board, paper (12" x 12" and 2 1/4" x 2 1/4"), the Word Window punch, scissors, adhesive, ribbon, and buttons.

Directions:
  • On sides 1 and 3 of your paper, punch and score at 1 1/2" - go easy as you score down because the paper will go over the punch board; you will match up another score line later so there will be a full line from one side to the other
  • On sides 2 and 4 of your paper, punch and score at 5"
  • Turn your paper over and with the first punch at 1 1/2" to your left, repeat the steps above
  • Turn your paper over - with large tab to your right, line up the punch at 2 5/8" then punch and score
  • Do the same thing on the opposite side of the paper
  • Look at your score lines and make sure there is a score line between all punches - if not, add the needed score lines
  • Round all tabs
  • Fold on all score lines
  • Cut on lines on either side of the large tabs
  • On the second score line from the large tabs (must be done on both sides), use the Word Window punch and punch out space so you can fit a large tab through (see picture) - if you do not have the Word Window punch, you can cut this space out with a pair of scissors
  • Fold the small tabs towards the outside and affix with adhesive
  • Place adhesive on the triangle portions and fold in to make your "bag"
  • Use glue dots to affix your ribbon on either side of the inside of the bag
  • Use glue dots to affix buttons to the side and on one large tab
  • Round the corners on the 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" piece of cardstock and affix behind the large tab with the button
  • Fold the tab with the button into the hole (made with the Word Window punch/scissors) from inside out
  • Fold the remaining tab into the hole on the other side
  • Viola! You have a cute little purse to hold all kinds of goodies - cards with envelopes, sweet treats, jewelry, small gifts, pencil with small pad of paper, 8 pack of crayons with small pad of paper (this is what my daughter did for church on Sunday with the purse I made for her), etc
I hope you enjoy making these as much as I have!

Have a great day!

Petite Snack Box

I turned a 6" x 6" piece of paper into a petite snack box.

I am making these for the ladies at church who attend a weekly Bible class. I did not realize we were not going to meet during Thanksgiving week so I had to get busy and get 30 of these completed in one sitting!

Hope you have a great Thursday! ツ

Scraps no longer

What do you do with the cardboard inserts inside boxes shipped to you?

I turn them into notebooks!

These came in my most recent Paper Pumpkin shipment.

I covered them with paper and used my Cinch machine and turned it into this ...

Although it looks pretty cute just the way it is, I decided to add some ribbon and paper flowers. It now looks like this ...

I have 7 sections in my notebook: (1) two page per month monthly calendar for 2014, (2) perpetual list of birthdays for family and friends, (3) menus and shooing lists, (4) blank recipe pages, (5) lined note pages, (6) address book pages, and (7) blank pages. I should be ready for next year!

Have a great day!

We Blend Well

I made this love note for my husband. I placed it in his sock drawer - one place I know he will look in! I love leaving him notes he will find when he least expects it.

I wrote my note to him on the back.

Hope he likes it!

Ghirardelli Chocolate Box

This is the neatest little box and it holds 2 or 3 Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares.

What you need:
  • 6" x 6" piece of paper or cardstock
  • adhesive
  • 12" of ribbon,
  • a hole punch or 3/8" circle punch
  • Envelope Punch Board

Instructions:

  • Using the Envelope Punch Board, punch and score at the 2" mark
  • Slide your paper to the 4" mark - punch and score.
  • Repeat first two steps on remaining sides
  • Using the Reverse Punch, round all four triangles
  • Fold on all score lines
  • Cut on the score lines on either side of one triangle; turn the paper to the opposite side and do the same cuts (see picture below)

  • Using the hole punch or 3/8" circle punch, punch a circle near the tips of all four triangles
  • Place adhesive on the flaps created so you can form a box
  • Place the box with one triangle facing you
  • Thread the robin through the box
    • Begin by going into the hole facing you
    • Bring the ribbon out of the box to the left and go into the hole on the left
    • Bring the ribbon out of the box and over the flap on the right and into the hole on the right
    • Bring the ribbon through the top hole from inside the box (see picture below)

  • Pull the ribbon gently bringing the inner flaps slightly inward and the outer flaps to a close
  • Tie the ribbon in a bow
  • Add decorations if desired

I chose not to decorate the two in the first picture, but decided to add a butterfly and a "for you" tag to this box.

I hope you have a great day!
