Notebooks and Pencils

Ana needed two gifts for friends who have birthdays this week. I came across a video on how to make these and Ana loved them.

We went shopping yesterday and sat down today and made these.

Ana made the purple one and I made the blue one.

Have a great day!

Tea Bag Dispenser

I made these after watching a few tutorials.

I had to make some changes to the videos I watched so here are my instructions.

CS or DSP 6" x 12"

Score on the short side at 1".

Score on the long side at 3 1/8", 5 3/4", 8 7/8", and 11 1/2".

Between the 3 1/8" and 5 3/4" score lines, make a score line at 1 3/4". See drawing below.

For the lines with the hash marks, cut.

For the box with the "xx", remove this section.

Fold up the gray section, fold up and adhere with sticky strip or glue.

Put glue or sticky strip on the pink section and create the box.

Fold the bottom tabs in and glue together.

Cut a piece of matching CS or DSP (sorry, I did not write down the measurements for this) and place on the inside of the bottom of the box and adhere.

Cut a piece of chipboard 3 3/8" x 2 3/4" and glue to the outside of the bottom of the box to give it more stability.

For the lid, cut a piece of matching CS or DSP 4 1/4" x 4 3/4". Score 3/4" on all sides - trim the tabs and glue to make the lid.

For CS or DSP like the one pictured above on the right, you need ...

  • 2 - 2 1/2" x 3"
  • 1 - 1 3/4" x 2 1/2"
  • 1 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
  • 1 - 2 1/2" x 3" for the top of the lid. Make sure you have your pattern going the right direction when you cut the one for the lid!

I made what I call rosettes for the tops of these. To do this, cut a piece of CS 1" x 12" and score every 1/2". Fold mountain, valley, mountain, valley, etc until the piece is folded like a fan. Glue the ends together (it will make a circle) and then flip the piece inside on itself to create the rosette - you need to hold the center of the rosette or it will pop out on you!  I cut 2 - 1" circles and glued them on either side of the rosette.

The rosette on top of the dispenser on the right was made with a 1 1/2" x 12" piece of CS. Before scoring, I trimmed the edge with an edge border.

I glued the rosettes to the top of the lid.

You can decorate these any way you like. The one on the left is decorated with a doily that I cut in half so it would fit with just a little bit hanging over the edges of the box.

Have a great day! ツ

Flower and Origami Box

This is another design by Elaine at Papercraft Button.

This is super easy! I changed the flower, but it still looks great!

Have a great day!

Origami Treat Box

Elaine with Papercraft Button made these cute origami treat boxes.

This has 20 Hershey eggs and kisses inside so it is a nice size box.

The bottom portion started as an 8" x 8" piece of DSP.

Hope you are having a great day!

Square Framelits Box Lid

Sam made these boxes recently and I fell in love with them!

It holds at least 20 Hershey Kisses! It can also hold a gift card along with some sweet treats.

I made the box below a little taller to hold a gift card and baby socks for a baby gift.

Have a great day!

Here are a couple of notebooks I recently made. These are quite easy and the notebooks are 5" x 8" notepads cut in half at a Office Max.

Hope you are having a great day!

Card with Bookmark

I case'd this from France Martin.  These are so easy to make that I wrote on the card before taking a picture - thus the blotted out area on the card.

Hope you have a great day!

Thinking of You Cards

I teach a Bible class on Wednesday nights. This past Wednesday, I had the class make cards to send to those who are on the sick list in our bulletin.

I was so proud of the kids. These are the cards they made.

Hope you  have a great day!

Easy Baskets

I made these baskets with the Envelope Punch Board. The first one is made with a 6" x 6" piece of cardstock. The second one is made with an 8" x 8" piece of cardstock.

I cannot find the link for the instructions, but I searched "basket" on YouTube.

The instructions for the 6" x 6" basket are ...

  • Punch and score at 1 1/2" on all sides.
  • Go back and punch where there are lines - no additional score lines are needed.
  • Cut on either side of a triangle and do the same on the opposite side.
  • Glue the newly created tabs so that the point of the tab is on the edge of the flap. Do this for both tabs on each side.
  • Fold over the top of the flap on all sides.
  • The handle is a 1" x 6" piece of cardstock.
  • The circle is 1 3/4" and the scallop circle is 2 3/8" - both are punches from Stampin' Up!
  • The stamp set is from Stampin' Up! - Eggstra Spectacular
Instructions for the 8" x 8" basket are the same as above except you punch and score at the 2 1/2" mark.

Purse Gift Bag

I belong to a crafting group and one of the ladies posted a very cute purse gift bag. She gave credit to Jenny at http://astampingjourney.wordpress.com/2012/01/09/large-tote-bag-tutorial/.

I thought I would try my hand at making one. While my first attempt did turn out to look like a purse, it is not photo worthy! I did make notes and tried making another one. The second attempt was much better!

I made this with papers from Joann's. The buttons and flower purse charm are Stampin' Up! Products.

Hope you have a great day!

Scallop Topper Card

I have seen these cards completed by several different people so I thought I would try my hand at one.

I made this card for my husband with the Love You To The Moon stamp set from Stampin' Up!.

Here are the instructions ...

Card base:

CS: 5 3/4" x 8 1/4"

Score on the long side at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2"

Slide the CS into the Scallop Tag Punch from Stampin' Up! and center it between the edge of the card and the first score line - punch.

Move the punch over to the next section centering it between the two score lines - punch.

Move the punch over to the last section centering it between the score line and edge of the CS - punch.

Trim off the excess between the scallop punch outs.

For the card section:

Colored CS: 2 1/2" x 4 3/4" - three pieces
White CS: 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" - three pieces

Stamp and decorate as desired

Hope you have fun making you own cards!

Another Bunny Bag

This bag was inspired by Tracy May. This bunny uses punches - I didn't have a couple of the punches so I made do.

Hope you have a great day!

Carrots anyone?

I was inspired to by Lynda Shrimpton's carrot patch below.

I wish I could find some carrot candy like she did, but I did find some! The umbrella looking handles are there because the chocolate is like a lollipop.

Sorry for the shadows - it was very dark and rainy the day
I took the picture so I had to use a light instead of sunlight.

I would have to say it does look like a carrot patch, but not as nice as Lynda's.

Have a great day!

Gender Reveal Card

I saw this card on Dawn's blog and thought about the expected arrival of my second grandchild.

We won't find out until May but I couldn't wait to see if I could make a card like Dawn - hers was so cute!

I think the elephants are super cute!

Hope you have a great day!

Tea for Two

Aren't these just the cutest! I found them over at Qbee's Quest

So simple to make and so elegant. I think I shall make some for Mother's Day.

Have a great day!
