Notebooks and Pencils

Ana needed two gifts for friends who have birthdays this week. I came across a video on how to make these and Ana loved them.

We went shopping yesterday and sat down today and made these.

Ana made the purple one and I made the blue one.

Have a great day!

Slim Covered Notebooks

Here are a couple of notebooks I recently made. These are quite easy and the notebooks are 5" x 8" notepads cut in half at a Office Max.

Hope you are having a great day!

Punch Art Covered Notebook

When I was looking for ideas for the Cute Kitty card, I came across this butterfly. The original had legs, but I couldn't get my legs to look right so my butterfly doesn't have any.

With some additional ideas from friends, the punch art items were placed on a 5" x 7" notebook.

It turned out quite cute!

Have a great day!

Covered Notebooks

I needed some cute gifts for some friends so I went to a local office supply store and purchased the small legal pads. I had them cut in half vertically so I could create these cute notepads.

This one I made with the matchbook pattern in mind - closed and opened.

I hope you like them! Have a great Friday and weekend!

Scraps no longer

What do you do with the cardboard inserts inside boxes shipped to you?

I turn them into notebooks!

These came in my most recent Paper Pumpkin shipment.

I covered them with paper and used my Cinch machine and turned it into this ...

Although it looks pretty cute just the way it is, I decided to add some ribbon and paper flowers. It now looks like this ...

I have 7 sections in my notebook: (1) two page per month monthly calendar for 2014, (2) perpetual list of birthdays for family and friends, (3) menus and shooing lists, (4) blank recipe pages, (5) lined note pages, (6) address book pages, and (7) blank pages. I should be ready for next year!

Have a great day!

Covered Notebooks

I love the stamps that came in the Paper Pumpkin this month. I have been making different projects and especially like these two ...

These are covered notebooks you can purchase at any office supply store. The word "notes" is from the Paper Pumpkin. The colored dots on the white CS are from the stamp set Gorgeous Grunge. The rest is stuff I had on hand.

Have a great day!

Christmas Gifts

Last year for Christmas, I made of list of craft supplies I would like for my husband and daughter so they could get an idea of what I would like to add to my craft room.  On Christmas was I surprised when I opened gifts and found they had purchased EVERYTHING on my "want" list.  I was excited!

One of my gifts was The Cinch binding machine. Oh, I fell in love with it. I did quickly discover I did not care for the spiral bindings. I do, however, love the wire bindings as the book will actually lie flat when opened.

For Christmas gifts this year, I made these two notebooks. One is for my mom and the other for my DIL Ashley. I updated the book I made myself last year to include the same pages they have in their books.

The notebooks have a 2014 two-page calendar with family birthdays off to the right under the "Important" column. Our family just doesn't have any birthdays in March (picture below).

There is a section for recipes. I am always looking for a piece of paper to write down a favorite recipe so I thought this might come in handy for them. I placed page __ of __ at the bottom so they could finish a recipe on another page if necessary.

The last section is Menus and Shopping Lists. I plan my week of evening meals (dinner or supper, depending on what part of the country you are from) so this is super easy for me to know what ingredients I need for each menu.  I can take my book with me to the grocery store or jot down the needed items on my grocery list.  I thought this might also be helpful for them as well.

I hope you like the books and that they do as well!
